Lesson Not Learned

Read "It's Been A While" first.......

Packed the car. Left for Chico. A few miles down the road I realize that I forgot the dog food and dog meds. Turn around. Due to traffic, it is a 35-minute detour.

Get to Chico at 11:30pm. Unpacking car. No cycling shoes!

I remember having them in my hand with my helmet and deciding to grab an extra tube. Have the tube. Have the helmet, the clothes, the bike. No shoes.

I need to find the checklist!

Oh no!! Not again! Maybe you could tape a list to your forehead..I'm sure glad I'm not the only one who forgets stuff. And sometimes a list doesn't even help.

Usually I lose the list, or it's in my special place, which I can never remember where that is. I haven't forgotten you, however, so at least I've got that.

:)
I often lose the list two or wind up writing it several times, etc. The more I make the list, tho, the more it gels in mind. Which doesn't mean I still don't forget something, but maybe it helps a little bit!

These posts about forgetting biking stuff made me (this is uncle, not aunt) laugh and laugh--cuz I've been there too, tho I was sorry for you. I'm so glad to hear that Bill, my biking hero, had a bike list too. I didn't know if I was strange and the only one. "My" list is always in the same place and always findable immediately, so there! :-) Altho some of the best and nicest people I know are expert list (and usually everything else) losers.
